Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) released a communiqué claiming the capture of a French national, Michel Germaneau, on jihadist forums on May 13, 2010. The group also provided an audio from the captive, his picture, and a copy of his identification card. AQIM reported in the communiqué that Germaneau was captured in northern Niger on April 22,I pray for his safety and safe return to his family. Unfortunately, once one caves into the demands of the terrorists, more kidnapping results such as this one.
