US Diplomat and driver Killed in Sudan

From
Newsvine
"KHARTOUM — An American diplomat and his driver were shot to death Tuesday in the Sudanese capital, the U.S. Embassy said, a day after a joint African Union-United Nations force took over peacekeeping in Sudan's Darfur region."

"It was not immediately known if the attack had a political motive or was a random crime. Though Darfur, far to the west, is engulfed in violence, the Sudanese capital and its surroundings rarely see political violence or attacks by Islamic militants."

Troubled youts?....nothing to see here...move along...

"An American diplomat in Sudan was shot and killed early Tuesday as he was coming home from a New Year's Eve party in the capital, Khartoum.

In Washington, the United States Agency for International Development identified the victim as one of its officials - John Granville, 33, originally of Buffalo, New York. American officials said it was "too early to tell" if the shooting had been random or planned, but Sudanese officials said the circumstances were suspicious, especially because gun crime is rare in Khartoum, considered one of the safest cities in Africa."

No nothing to see here. What would make us NOT think it was done on purpose by Islamists??? Earth to the media --- do you live on the same planet I do?

RIP indeed. May all families find comfort as well.

I think this was a planned attack and not just "random crime". The amount of bullets into the driver alone I believe was 5. This does not sound random when coupled with our troubled relations over Darfur.

More murderous Islamists angry because the worlds attention is focused on the genocide being perpetrated by Islamists. Poor man was trying to help and was murdered for his helping. Sad.
